Learning Outcome 4

Learning Outcome 4:

My peer review experience was much different than how I thought it was going to go. As a high schooler, I wasn’t even asked to give in depth responses on my comments for my peer edits. The biggest change from college to high school was what I had to hone in on. Now my focus must be on different aspects of my peer’s papers. Instead of looking for a couple of grammar errors or awkward phrasing, I was looking for ways to strengthen my peer’s work based on furthering the content and meaning of what my respective peer has on their page. This was a new, but helpful process because I know how to properly look at my peer’s work and give constructive criticism. This wasn’t a simple feat, I hadn’t really gotten the hang of finding important points that I felt could help my classmates until one of the last peer edits we did. Peer edits have made me have conscious efforts to take the process and the reviews on my own work seriously being that I know my peers are looking at my paper as critically as I was with theirs.
